Death Wish Coffee Review

Welcome to Random Books and Coffee Review’s first coffee review.  Today I’ll be talking about the “Worlds Strongest Coffee,” Death Wish.  I’ll be discussing my experience based on using a Keurig so that might affect my judgement, just to warn you.  Any suggestions as to what coffee I should review next or how to improve this sort of review is greatly appreciated, as I am one Book Dragon and might miss something.

(For those of you who with specific concerns about their coffee, this coffee is organic and Fair Trade certified)

When I first heard about this coffee, I was intrigued.  The high caffeine content spoke to my sleep-deprived self during the era where I was a fledgling in the world of reviews, beginning my learning into criticism and how best to present it while procrastinating on papers.  It took a unique blend of their coffee to convince me to try it out.

My first experience with Death Wish’s coffee is with their Cauldron Aged Pumpkin blend last year during the point when fall awakens my pumpkin addiction, and my coffee addiction begged for a new experience.  While I didn’t order that specific blend this year, I have purchased the original for this review, of which I have no complaints.

I don’t know about my fellow coffee addicts, but the scent of coffee in the morning is enough to banish the lingering fog of sleep and warm even my bitterest of moods.  This coffee has a subtle scent of chocolate mixed in with the strong coffee aroma once the glorious liquid filled my mug.

I like to have a decent size cup of coffee in the morning, thus affecting the strength of the flavor since I use a Keurig.  At least with my model the larger the cup means the weaker the taste, especially when using premade K-cups.  The coffee itself has hints of chocolate and cherries, more prominent if little to no creamer is used.  There is a lingering taste of toast after drinking, but that doesn’t bother me.

The coffee flavor itself is strong, but the important thing for most of you is the strength of the caffeine content.  I’ll admit that this coffee has kept me awake after sleep issues have plagued my nights for a few days, unless the coffee is the reason behind my insomnia.  If so, then it’s worth it, although I probably need to finish my cup earlier so I can fall asleep.

Overall, I’d highly recommend this coffee for anyone who needs to stay awake for a long time and enjoys strong coffee.  You can purchase a package or subscribe for a weekly delivery of the glorious coffee if you so choose.  I wouldn’t be surprised if some students use this coffee for all-nighters.  I won’t judge; I experiences those long nights staring at the blank screen and open textbooks as well.
